It’s full of unknowns and uncertainty, but at the same time a hint of nervous excitement. I was so inspired today as I watched my son make the mental shift from a freedom filled summer to a jammed packed school year full of new experiences. You might remember how it felt to step into the new school or new class with your new “first day of school” outfit on. You might remember your mind swimming because you had to make some quick, but very important, decisions that could potentially have lasting effects on your experience at this new level (i.e. where am I going to sit?...who am I going to talk to?...and how am I going to show up differently this year?). Even while faced with all of this, we still made the decision to step on that bus, step into that school and head into our new level.
If we’re being honest, we’ve all had some fears about going to the next level. In many cases we’ve allowed that fear to hold us back and keep us stuck at the same level. Is this your story? If so, let’s challenge ourselves to make a mental shift in our thinking. Your task this week is to take 1 step towards the thing that scares you the most. Break the grip that it has on you and “do it afraid”. Let’s not stop there. Ask yourself some tough questions and get unstuck. What important decisions do you need to make that could have lasting effects on your year? What do you need to move to your next level? Finding the answers to these questions could set you up for the success you’ve been waiting to experience. You’re not alone in this journey. We are here to help you examine the level you’re on and flex those courage muscles to move to the next one. Check out our “Back to School” specials at The S.W.A.G.
