Luke 8:43-48 New Living Translation (NLT)
43 A woman in the crowd had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding,[a] and she could find no cure. 44 Coming up behind Jesus, she touched the fringe of his robe. Immediately, the bleeding stopped.45 “Who touched me?” Jesus asked. Everyone denied it, and Peter said, “Master, this whole crowd is pressing up against you.”46 But Jesus said, “Someone deliberately touched me, for I felt healing power go out from me.” 47 When the woman realized that she could not stay hidden, she began to tremble and fell to her knees in front of him. The whole crowd heard her explain why she had touched him and that she had been immediately healed. 48 “Daughter,” he said to her, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.” Powerful, right? I can only imagine all the emotions that had to be going through this woman’s mind at the time she reached out to touch Jesus. Desperation, fear, anxiety and exhaustion rushing through her all at once. This woman had heard about Jesus and the healing power that He possessed and perhaps, had seen firsthand what he had done for others. I can only imagine what she must have been thinking when she woke up that morning and the self-talk she had to get through in order to come to this bodacious move. Was she at her wits end? Was she fed up with hearing the doctors tell her that there was nothing they could do for her and that she would just have to live with this issue? Did she cry her last tear and make up her mind that today was the day she would find a solution to her issue by ANY means necessary? I can only imagine the sheer exasperation she must have been feeling. This beautiful woman COURAGEOUSLY pressed her way through the crowds and past others who I’m sure were hoping to get a glimpse of Jesus or a touch from him. She pressed her way past the shameful looks, heartless whispers and hateful ridicule that she may have received from others for 12 long years. She silenced the fearful noise and self-limiting voices that rang loudly in her head and boldly reached out her hand to touch the fringe of his garment. It seems to me that this woman was so determined to get what she had envisioned for years that she gave no power to the risk she was taking or the consequence she could have faced. She was READY and willing to REACH for her breakthrough! Are you? What will you COURAGEOUSLY reach for today to get your breakthrough? What voice in your head will you ignore that has prevented you from taking a BOLD risk? Is today the day that you will make up your mind and by ANY means necessary find a solution to your issue? Are you ready to throw caution to the wind and tenaciously REACH for the moment that could change the course of your life? If you answered “Yes!” to any of these questions, I would like to welcome you to your COURAGE ZONE and challenge you to REACH and COURAGEOUSLY complete at least 1 actionable goal this week that will get you to the place you want to be! Let's press past somethings today!
